image image So looks like Amazon still thinks that books are alive just in a different format.  This device is setup with EVDO networking and automatically holds just about all the books that you could want to read.  Pricing looks like you browse and then buy and the device it self is $400. All new release books cost $9.99 as do books found on the NYT best sellers list. Newspaper subscriptions cost $5.99 to $14.99 per month and Kindle Magazines cost between $1.25 and $3.49 per month — each is available for a free 2 week trial.  Blogs will cost you $0.99 per month to subscribe.  Today they are boasting 88,000 titles and 100 of the 112 best sellers available.  You do not need to setup an EVDO account that is automatically included.

I think this is a step in the right direction but it is going to be hard to get people to get used to reading a long novel on a screen rather than in a book.  Assuming that the resolution is setup correctly and the fonts are eye pleasing it is just a matter of getting people to change.  Which is always easier said then done.  Personally I love the idea because it makes it a lot more simple to read books.  I am waiting to see what happens after some hackers get their hands on this thing and make it do things it was never meant to do!
