To completely disable the yellow plugin bar that tells you that you’re missing plugins, in about:config set the preference plugin.default_plugin_disabled to false. There is currently no way to disable the bar for only certain plugins or for certain sites.

How to add icons to your Ubuntu Desktop (My Computer, Documents, and Trash)
1) Hit ALT-F2 and type: gconf-editor
2) Select Apps > Nautilus > Desktop
3) check/uncheck the boxes for computer_icon_visible, documents_icon_visible, or trash_icon_visible.
Alright this is for secret santa, you just enter the names of the people and select send and it sends to everyone you have email address for and you can send the master list to one account. It requires an SMTP server access to mail the list. Saves a ton of time:
gDesklets are wigets for the gnome desktop enviornment
sudo apt-get install gdesklets gdesklets-data
Then you will need to go to system, session, programs to load on start, and add gdesklets to the list. This will fix it so it loads every time you restart.
Install the cursor theme selector:

Edit /etc/jvm and move /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun to the top of JVMs offered:

install the firefox plugin:
sudo apt-get install sun-java5-plugin
then click here to test it

The credit report sites will only let you get your report free for 24 hours, sometimes only once. Since some of the sites have lots of links and drop down windows, accurately printing out your credit report can be a bit of a chore.
