Well this morning my check engine light went off which was met with a few choice words. Luckily I read a while back that most car parts shops like Checker or Autozone will read the codes for free for you and clear the check engine light. Well I made my way by one on the way home and looked at the model she was using to read the codes. In the past week both Laura and I have had our check engine lights come on and it’s really annoying that I cannot tell what is causing the issue. So I am thinking of investing in one of those diagnostic tools. I found one that will take updates from the Internet as well as record live data that you can then chart on your computer. The model is the Equus 3130 Innova Diagnostic Code Scanner. Amazon has them on sale for $154, after the holidays I may be picking one of these up. Seeing as I will always have a car and as long as this stays updated I should be good to go

So if you forget that this is for a snowboarding magazine this is pretty amazing. Looks like they got a rally racer to go with them in a snowboard park and have some fun along side with them. Pretty amazing stuff! I guess they broke the record for the longest jump in a car on snow while doing this shot. The official information is on the 0-60 website but check out the video below! I love rally racing if only it would become bigger in the US!
This would make a good gift idea for those of us who have to keep their Audi for another few years until they graduate. This little guy plugs into the CD changer adapter in the trunk of the car and gives you 2 (left & right) RCA jacks to plugin anything you want. So from there you can get a stereo to headphone adapter and plug it directly into your headphone jack and now you are directly connected to your stereo without any tape adapters or bad FM modulators. This would be a nice feature to add to my car…now I just need a spare $65 laying around. Crutchfield has it as they typically have anything for your car stereo.
So for those of you who have tried to install aftermarket lights on your car you know what a pain they can be to get in place and wired correctly. This company has come up with a great idea. These HID add-ons clip to the back of your rear view mirror and plug into your cigarette lighter. They are wirelessly linked to your
headlights and can sense when other cars are coming so they know when to auto-dim. A great idea but begs the question of where the wireless relay goes to connect to you bright lights. Also sad to see that I cannot blind someone with them intentionally.
Yes finally I have found a use for the cigarette lighter in my car. At an estimated frugal $14.99 this item won Best New Interior Accessory prize at SEMA 2007. You can never have too many flashlights in your car, I have one of those crank LED flashlights in my car so its always ready to use. According to the web page a 3 hour change gives you 1 hour of light. I like this idea because cigarette lights really serve no purpose in cars other than a power outlet. Seriously who smokes any more??

Looks like some new pictures of the 4 door Genesis have risen from the Detroit car show that is about to happen here pretty soon. Still looking for the specs and the pricing of this new car but the pictures are promising and resemble some familiar body lines that seem to be making it to every sedan these days. But it is 4 door and 4 tires and 2 headlights how many ways can you really do it? But the interior shows some promising pictures that Hyundai is moving in the right direction. The navigation ball in the center of the console behind the transmission looks pretty familiar don’t you think?
Wow so Infiniti is making a run with the newly found G37 formally known as G35 coupe. Since they did win the interior of the year award in 2007 the have managed to rise my eyebrows. This little 3.7 liter V6 Aluminum alloy engine manages to pump out 330 ponies at 270 lb-ft of toque. Should be interesting to test drive this one when it comes out with the all wheel drive version right now the rear wheel drive version doesn’t have me too excited as it wouldn’t work at all in Colorado during the winters
Wow who knew that Mitsubishi could make a decent car that might actually rise my interests. They mentioned all wheel drive and a turbo somewhere around 300+ ponies.
The standard GSR has a radio and power accessories, but does not come with a wing — that would get added in the Sight, Sound, and Spoiler package, which throws in HID headlamps and a 650-watt Rockford Fosgate system. The optional package for the MR is the Technology Package, which adds goodies to the stereo system (like a subwoofer and hard drive), Bluetooth, navigation, and the Fast Key entry system.
When it comes to inner workings, the GS rides on 18-inch Enkeis. The MR gets 18-inch BBS forged alloys, as well as Bilstein shock absorbers, Eibach springs, and 2-piece rotors. Voila. Lancer Evo X pricing according to one source will be around $30,000 for the GSR, and $36,000 for the MR.
Well of course after I just buy some tech wax 1.0 they come out with the new 2.0 tech wax. This stuff is great it doesn’t dry super white and doesn’t leave a film. Apparently the new version is Hydrophobic leaving a layer off wax that makes the water bead up and run off your car faster then ever before so the chances of your car staying clean are much better than before. As usual I would expect this to come in around $25 or so as that is what I paid for the last one. Only problem is this wax tends to last me a long time so who knows when I will need to buy the next version but chances are it will take a while to come out anyway’s.
