Propane Gauge

image I am constantly amazed that this is not standard on grills these days…This is a nice little product from Brookstone for $25 that will keep you from running out of gas in the middle of cooking dinner.  The only built in gauges that I have seen are based on weighing the tank and I do not find them to be very accurate.  This would make a great gift idea!

Customized Welcome Mat

imageI think that this is a pretty creative idea, it is a welcome mat that you can customize to say whatever message you want it to say.  This would be nice for when you have parties you can tell people to come right in.  But that is assuming that people even read the mat when they come up to your house which I am not sure of.  This is similar to the one that we have that says Leave!

Military Simulator

image

Ah yes please!  This multi projector simulator is known as MetaVR Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG)™, why does the government always get the best toys?  Oh wait…that’s right its because I give them 1/3 of my paycheck every 2 weeks!  I wonder how much fun Ratchet & Clank would be to play on this thing!

Projectors?

um…yea I don’t know what to say here other than um yea…

Yamaha Sound Bar

image This has got to be the best idea ever, full surround sound out of one speaker using technology and angles to achieve the effect. The Japan-only YSP-500 has only 18 individual sound beam drivers as opposed to 42 in the YSP-4000. It’s also only 24-inches long, will fit easily under a TV and costs only $647. It support "Dolby digital, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS Neo:6" and as Paul Strauss notes, you need a sub to really get the most out of this soundbar. Unfortunately, there’s no mention of HDMI inputs. If YSP wants to go mainstream, Yamaha should bring this setup here.

Safety plug for headphones

image

This is a great idea, it has a little plug that goes into you laptop earphone mini jack and has a magnetic end that goes to an adapted that connects to your headphones.  This way if someone trips or grabs the cord the magnet releases and your laptop isn’t jerked across the room.  Now if they could just do this for the power cable everything would be good to go!

VX 10000

Looks like LG has some new phones on the horizon and looks like this one takes the cake.  Its nice and thin and has a full QWERTY so right up my ally.  The Voyager (pictured) does it all, with a full screen touch screen on the outside, and a second screen on the clamshell interior, facing a gargantuan QWERTY keyboard. V CAST Mobile TV makes an appearance, as does a microSD slot and 2 megapixel camera. All of these phones are supposed to be out by Thanksgiving, but no word on price or exact dates

XO has a Corn Stripper

cornstripper So XO probably my favorite kitchen utility people have made this awesome invention, it peals the corn right off the cob so you don’t have to fiddle with a knife.  Kind of a great idea for someone who loves corn on the cob but likes to eat it off the cob!  Product Link

BaconSalt…um yes please

BaconSalt.jpg

Alright Quiet possibly the best idea I have ever heard of. Plus the logo says it all ‘Everything should taste like bacon!’ we ordered the sampler…a whopping $12

This lone speaker is capable of emulating 5.1 surround sound and now comes in 40 inch and 42 inch sizes. It supports the spectrum of audio technology—Dolby, DTS, etc. It also outputs a total of 120W with two 20W speakers and two 40W speakers. This is a pretty good solution for those wanting somewhat of a 5.1 surround sound experience without having to wire up your home. – Travis Hudson
