So to pick up some extra cash I also do some web development on the side. This is a good way for me to keep up with the latest and greatest of what is going on in the world of web development. My idea with web development is to hide the back-end complicated part and make it something that the users can easily edit their own content and manage their websites without needing to contact their webmaster/developer. This makes it a lot easier for everyone in my mind. WordPress has become the CMS of choice to mitigate the complicated world of website development and giving control to the companies they represent.
All of the websites below are using customized themes from WordPress as a starting point and then were configured to the customers needs.

Arapahoe Rescue Patrol This is a non-profit organization that is a highschool based search and rescue team. Their site needs included forms to capture new member information as well as alumni information. They also have a members only section for special member communications only. There is also a mailing manager application that does mailing lists to a group of selected users. This is one of their main forms of communication to the members and parents |

Crown Chic Boutique This was probably the most complicated re-do that I have done to date. The customer wanted to keep their current design they just wanted to move from a static HTML site to a WordPress managed site. I found a theme that would work well for them and then modified the heck out of it to get it to look like their old site. I also had to use some new plugins for JavaScript effects such as their collapsible menus on the left side Probably the most complicated part was the integration of WP-eCommerce into the site. The site is totally controlled by that plug in using a custom theme that I developed using the default as a template. The shopping cart communicates with PayPal for easy checkout. Currently the site has 450 products that are managed through WP-eCommerce which actually works very well it is just a little cumbersome to use |

Bloom Yoga For this project the customer wanted a dynamic design that was eye catching and would also display information about the company as well as class schedules for Yoga. On the top there is a slider that moves through the site that doubles as a navigation for the website. |

JMRoss Photography This customer was looking for a flashy and easy to navigate website for her photography company. The upper image shows the use of a slider for the navigation and then below that are images that are viewable by category. This website also captures information from the user and emails it to the owner when they need more information. The second image is for the customers personal blog that is unrelated to her photography site. This was done with a second installation of WordPress so the two could remain separate. The owner wanted the ability to upload pictures and show them to her family members that did not have a Facebook account. This website uses multiple gallery effects for a stimulating view of all her pictures. |

Laura Nicole Design This website was designed for a customer who is very artistic and was looking for a good way to publish her digital portfolio of her accomplishments. The second image is for her personal blog where she wanted something that was fun and bright so she had a place to put things that were on her mind. This is also a separate install of WordPress so that the user does not confuse the two sites, and also allows for simple theme application depending on which site you are in. |

Hi Dan,
I read your great post about customizing the screensavers on a Kindle and I would like to let you know about my website:
http://www.kubizo.com
It has a software app to AUTOMATICALLY do the jailbreaking and install the screensavers. Better than a tutorial, especially for people who are not as good as you are with computers
There are also about 2,000 images ready for use with a Kindle, arranged by category (sports, book covers, movie covers, celebrities, etc…)
I hope you like it and I’d be grateful to you if you could mention it in your blog!
Best
Davide
